We’d love to put out a new issue of UC Tampa every day, but just thinking about the logistics of it makes our eyes bug out. After all, there’s no corporate giant behind these pages—just a small group of well-intentioned people working together to give our readers good news about the area’s interesting places, personalities and businesses.
However, coming out in print bi-monthly doesn’t mean we’re only seen six times a year. As a complement to our interactive website, UC Tampa has been successfully utilizing Facebook and Twitter to stay in contact with our readers on a daily basis. On them, we post all of our breaking news and rumors—often weeks before traditional news outlets (or even we) get them in print.
As simple as the idea is, using Facebook and Twitter has proven to be a giant win-win that allows us to stay in our readers’ minds between issues, by providing them the information they crave on a daily basis.
